Manufacturing Engineer

Volt is urgently hiring a Hybrid Manufacturing Engineer II to support new product introduction efforts for a renowned medical device company in San Antonio, TX. This is a contract role with a first-shift schedule and an expected duration of 24+ months, offering a competitive pay rate and a hybrid work environment.

The selected candidate will play a vital role in developing electro-mechanical devices and soft goods for clinical use. The focus of the role includes BOM development, sourcing, validation, and coordination with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure product readiness and compliance with regulated industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) using ERP systems.

• Source, identify, and quote new materials and components with suppliers.

• Oversee the ordering, tracking, and receipt of materials.

• Coordinate engineering builds and shipping to testing or sterilization facilities.

• Handle material intake, inspection, and documentation procedures.

• Draft manufacturing work instructions and define process steps.

• Collaborate with production facilities to develop build requests and protocols.

• Prepare and review technical documentation, compliance reports, and process validation records.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.

• Demonstrated manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in the medical device industry.

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, technical documentation, and validation protocols.

• Proficiency in GD&T, BOM structure, and supplier interactions.

• Must reside within commutable distance to San Antonio, TX.

Desired Skills:

• Strong familiarity with medical device regulations and validation requirements.

• Experience in regulated industries and process documentation best practices.

• Technical aptitude for electro-mechanical and soft goods design for clinical applications.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: USD 42.74 (Approx. USD 7397/month)
