Operations Specialist

Position Summary:

The Operations Specialist plays a critical role in managing day-to-day freight activities, ensuring shipments are executed smoothly and arrive on time. The role involves managing high-volume accounts or a mix of contract and spot freight, with a strong focus on detail, responsiveness, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and track daily freight transport across multiple modes and regions

• Monitor transit updates and proactively address potential delays

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and carriers through regular communication

• Manage time-sensitive requests and ensure milestones are met accurately

• Keep accurate records and shipment information for internal systems and billing

• Collaborate with account managers and internal teams to uphold service standards

Requirements:

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle time-sensitive tasks

• Customer- and carrier-service oriented with a proactive attitude

• Familiarity with operational systems or Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-3 years experience in freight or transportation operations

• Experience with drayage, intermodal, or full truckload (FTL) shipments

• Knowledge of scheduling systems or freight tracking tools

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is beneficial but not mandatory
