DanceBUG, the industry leader in dance media and software solutions, is hiring experienced Sports (Dance) Photographers to join their nationwide event coverage team for the February – May 2026 season. With nearly 25 years of innovation, DanceBUG has built a reputation as the gold standard for dance videography and photography, supporting studios and performers with high-quality visuals and advanced digital solutions.

This role is ideal for professional photographers with proven experience capturing dynamic, fast-paced performances in challenging lighting conditions. As part of the DanceBUG team, you’ll travel nationwide to cover dance competitions, recitals, and workshops, ensuring performers and studios receive professional-grade photography that celebrates their art.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture sharp, creative, and well-composed images of live dance performances in fast-paced environments.

  • Adjust camera settings (exposure, ISO, shutter speed, white balance, etc.) in real time to adapt to stage lighting and movement.

  • Manage, back up, and upload data using DanceBUG-provided software and laptops.

  • Ship or transfer files post-event according to company protocols.

  • Collaborate and communicate with Coaches, Managers, and Onsite Contacts to ensure event coverage runs smoothly.

  • Travel extensively across the U.S. (by car or air) to cover assigned events, typically Thursday through Monday.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional photography experience (preferably in dance, sports, theatre, or live action).

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in low-light and stage-lit environments.

  • Expertise in quick adjustments of camera settings to meet real-time demands.

  • Willingness and ability to work 12–16 hour days and travel on weekends.

  • Must live within 1 hour of a major airport.

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.

  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.

Equipment Requirements (must-own gear):

  • 2 professional-grade DSLR or mirrorless camera bodies (Canon, Nikon, or Sony only).

  • 2 professional lenses (F2.8 preferred): 24–70mm, 24–105mm, 24–120mm, 70–200mm.

  • 2+ camera batteries with chargers.

  • 4+ memory cards (minimum 64GB each).

  • Monopod.

  • Infield Training: Two weekends of onsite event coverage in January and February.
