Description:
Arm is a global leader in semiconductor and processor technology, enabling innovations across diverse industries such as mobile, datacenter, automotive, and IoT. The company’s Solutions Engineering Group DFT (Design for Test) Team plays a pivotal role in delivering highly efficient and testable System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures.
The Principal DFT Architect will be a senior technical leader responsible for defining, implementing, and validating DFT strategies that ensure high-quality, testable, and manufacturable silicon products. This position requires deep technical expertise, cross-functional leadership, and hands-on experience across all phases of the design and testing lifecycle—from architecture and RTL design through to silicon debug and validation.
You will collaborate with Arm’s internal teams and external partners worldwide, leveraging advanced DFT methodologies and the latest industry tools to create innovative solutions that improve test coverage, performance, and reliability across multiple business lines.
Architect and develop Design for Test (DFT) solutions for SoCs serving client, datacenter, automotive, and IoT applications.
Align DFT requirements with SoC, IP, and product teams, ensuring seamless integration and design consistency.
Implement and validate innovative DFT features using industry-standard tools for both SoC and sub-system levels.
Insert DFT logic at multiple design stages and validate DFT functionality through simulation and verification processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including RTL design, synthesis, verification, timing analysis, and place-and-route teams to achieve design closure.
Contribute to the development of ATE (Automatic Test Equipment)-targeted test patterns and support silicon characterization and debugging.
Drive the creation of robust validation methodologies, supporting silicon bring-up and test optimization.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams, promoting knowledge sharing and engineering excellence.
Lead the development of DFT architecture for advanced technology nodes and emerging chip packaging methods such as 2.5D and 3D integration.
At least 15 years of hands-on experience in DFT architecture, design, and implementation for complex SoCs.
Mastery of Siemens DFT tools, Streaming Scan Network (SSN), scan compression, memory BIST and repair, logic BIST, JTAG/IJTAG, ATPG, fault simulation, and silicon diagnostics.
Proficiency in Verilog RTL and scripting languages such as TCL and Perl.
Strong experience in DFT mode timing constraints, gate-level verification, and silicon debug processes.
Familiarity with 2.5D and 3D test methodologies and state-of-the-art semiconductor technologies.
Proven track record of successfully managing DFT architecture in advanced process nodes and multi-domain SoC environments.
Knowledge of SoC architectures with multi-clock domains and low-power design principles.
Understanding of Arm IP such as Cortex CPUs, Mali GPUs, AMBA protocols, CoreLink interconnects, and CoreSight debug systems.
Experience in datacenter or high-performance SoC design projects.
Hands-on experience with Cadence and/or Synopsys simulation and test tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across global teams.
Monthly Salary: USD 20091 – USD 27175
Competitive total rewards package including bonuses, equity options, and comprehensive benefits.
Flexible hybrid working model that promotes both high performance and personal wellbeing.
Career development opportunities in a globally recognized technology leader.
