Description:

Dow Jones Factiva and The Wall Street Journal seek an experienced, energetic, and creative host and producer to lead a new technology-focused podcast. This role involves being the authoritative yet approachable voice delivering tech and market news and analysis through interviews, original reporting, and news segments for a global audience.

You will be responsible for hosting, producing, writing, recording, and mixing the daily tech news podcast under tight deadlines, reacting quickly to breaking news, booking and interviewing industry leaders, pitching creative ideas and special series, and collaborating with newsroom teams. Strong editorial judgment and storytelling ability across multiple formats, including narrative podcasting and live interviews, are essential.

Candidates must have a deep understanding of technology, business, and finance news, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Host and produce daily tech news podcast episodes and special series.

• Write clear, engaging scripts and SEO-friendly headlines.

• React quickly to breaking news, book guests, and secure interviews on tight deadlines.

• Conduct original reporting and insightful interviews that distinguish the podcast.

• Collaborate with editors, social media teams, and live journalism teams.

• Maintain high journalistic and legal standards.

• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years in journalism with a focus on tech/business news.

• 3+ years audio production experience; experience producing daily news audio preferred but training available.

• Strong on-mic presence and video comfort.

• Excellent editorial judgment and storytelling skills.

• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in audio editing tools like Descript and Pro Tools or Audition.

• Experience in booking and managing industry contacts.

• Calm and adaptable in a fast-changing news environment.
