Description:

Pharmavite, a leader in the health and wellness industry and home to the #1 selling vitamin brand Nature Made, is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Inspection Operators to join their dynamic team in Opelika, Alabama. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a clean, regulated manufacturing environment focused on product quality and consumer well-being.

As an Inspection Operator, you will be responsible for preparing, staging, and inspecting gelatin capsules to ensure they meet strict quality standards. The role involves both manual inspection and the use of automated equipment to identify and remove defective products. You will play a critical role in maintaining product excellence and ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance are met.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and clean inspection areas, bins, and trays before and after use.

  • Visually inspect capsules and remove any defective products manually or through automated systems.

  • Operate automated equipment to sort, polish, and inspect capsules for compliance with specifications.

  • Document inspection data, complete log entries, and correctly label product containers.

  • Handle materials, lifting up to 30 pounds regularly and moving up to 400 pounds with pallet jacks.

  • Perform product checks, such as hardness tests on soft gel capsules.

  • Move products into and out of drying tunnels as needed.

  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety procedures, and standard operating guidelines.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • No prior experience necessary — full training will be provided.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic computer literacy to operate automated machinery and record inspection data.

  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle capsule inspection.

  • Strong communication skills for maintaining written records and interacting with supervisors.

  • Full-color vision required for identifying defects in capsules.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for a full 12-hour shift.

  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds and push/pull up to 400 pounds with equipment.

  • Perform repetitive tasks and maintain focus for long periods.

  • Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.


Work Environment:

  • Clean and temperature-controlled facility with minor operational noises and conditions.

  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as uniforms, gloves, earplugs, and safety glasses required at all times.
