Senior Associate

Description:

RWE Clean Energy is seeking a full-time Senior Associate for General Ledger to manage month-end financial closing processes, deliver timely financial reports, and support accounting best practices. The role involves preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements, collaborating with controlling teams on variance analysis, and assisting auditors with accounting inquiries.

Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end close duties including preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

• Prepare monthly and quarterly US GAAP financial statements for review

• Review and approve journal entries and peer reconciliations

• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects

• Respond to internal and external auditor inquiries

• Establish and maintain best practices for monthly close and reconciliation processes

• Collaborate closely with Controlling Team to improve accounting/reporting efficiency

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• CPA license preferred but not required

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in energy or related industries

• Familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards

• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage relationships

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
