Senior Scientist

Description:

The Senior Scientist will be instrumental in driving the development, scale-up, and successful commercialization of cutting-edge beverage products and flavor systems. This role focuses on transforming innovative concepts into commercially viable products, addressing complex technical challenges, and contributing to both local and global strategic business objectives.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a closely related technical field, coupled with a minimum of five years’ practical experience in beverage formulation and scale-up. Deep expertise in UHT/HTST processing, a strong understanding of ingredient functionality, and a history of delivering commercial-ready products are essential.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Product Development & Innovation:

• Lead end-to-end development of new beverage products and technologies.

• Enhance sensory appeal and functional performance across beverage categories.

• Convert consumer insights into scientifically sound, innovative solutions.

• Drive cost efficiency, quality improvement, and manufacturing productivity.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration:

• Provide technical guidance and thought leadership to cross-functional teams.

• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations to align technical efforts with business goals.

• Represent the R&D function in external forums and client interactions.

• Mentor junior staff while promoting a robust safety culture.

Testing & Data Analysis:

• Design and carry out experiments, including sensory evaluation and analytical testing.

• Analyze experimental data, derive conclusions, and deliver insights via formal reports and presentations.

• Maintain rigorous lab documentation and ensure adherence to R&D standards and sanitation practices.
