Description:

CBS News Los Angeles (KCAL News on KCBS/KCAL) is seeking a Makeup Artist to work with on-air teams, ensuring professional, high-quality appearance for television broadcasts. The role requires expertise in makeup for close-up shots, a strong understanding of current makeup techniques and tools, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure broadcast environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply professional makeup for television, including close-up shots, touch-ups, and makeup fittings for newscasters and journalists.

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to safety standards and protocols.

• Stay current with professional makeup advances and tools.

• Work efficiently under tight deadlines, early mornings, nights, weekends, and varying shifts as needed.

• Collaborate effectively with on-air talent and production teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5 years of professional makeup experience preferred.

• Experience in TV & Film makeup is a plus.

• Strong people and communication skills in a competitive, pressurized environment.

• Ability to stand for long periods and work effectively with a team.

• Flexibility to work weekends, long hours, or varying shifts to meet production and broadcast deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly pay: $41.43/hour (salary may vary slightly based on location, experience, and other job-related factors).
