Trading Risk Analyst

Description:

The Trading Risk Analyst will utilize quantitative methods to enhance risk management decisions. This position involves daily coordination with the front office, engaging with external counterparties, and reviewing legal documents. You will play a critical role in ensuring legal confirmation of transactions and mitigating risks associated with complex deals in the derivative and physical commodity space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Confirmation Coordination: Facilitate the creation and amendments of confirmations for complex deals through daily communication with the front office.

• Transaction Accuracy: Ensure accurate transaction capture in risk systems, meeting legal and regulatory standards.

• Counterparty Engagement: Work with external counterparties to confirm transactions and resolve disputes when necessary.

• Legal Document Expertise: Review ISDAs, NAESBs, EEIs, collateral agreements (CSA), and trade confirmations to ensure compliance and minimize legal risks.

• Reporting and Data Visualization: Develop and enhance reporting infrastructure and data visualization to aid decision-making.

• Risk Assessment: Collaborate with multiple departments to assess risks and ensure proper counterparty integration.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in confirmations management, preferably in commodities.

• Legal Contract Knowledge: Strong experience with ISDAs, NAESBs, EEIs, CSA, and related agreements.

• Skills: Proficiency in Excel, SQL, PowerBI; Python experience is a plus.

• Tools: Experience with Endure or other ETRM systems is a plus.

• Degree: Degree in a business or legal discipline.
