Upper School Math Instructor

Description:

Columbus Torah Academy, an independent K-12 Jewish day school, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematics Teacher for the upper school (grades 7-12) for the 2025-26 academic year. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about math education, capable of making complex concepts accessible, and committed to student success in a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

📌 Teaching & Curriculum Development

• Teach middle school and high school level math courses, including Algebra I, Algebra II, and Statistics.
• Develop engaging and rigorous lesson plans that connect mathematics to real-world applications.
• Collaborate with departmental colleagues to refine and enhance the math curriculum.

📌 Student Engagement & Classroom Management

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Utilize technology to support instruction and enhance learning experiences.
• Hold students accountable for school behavior standards while supporting their emotional well-being.

📌 Communication & Professional Collaboration

• Provide regular updates to parents regarding student progress through written reports and conferences.
• Work with faculty and staff to ensure student success and academic excellence.
• Participate in school-wide responsibilities as part of the Upper School faculty team.

Qualifications:

✅ Required:

• Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Strong communication, writing, and technological skills.
• Passion for teaching and mentoring students.

✅ Preferred:

• Postgraduate education in Mathematics or Education.
• Experience in classroom teaching, curriculum development, and student assessment.
• Ability to foster a collaborative learning environment.
