Description:
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving new business growth by building direct client relationships within hospital and healthcare systems nationwide. This person will lead strategic outreach, uncover client needs, present tailored solutions, and move opportunities through the sales process from initial contact through negotiation. This is a consultative sales role for someone who knows how to create value, not just generate activity.
The Opportunity:
- Source and develop new direct healthcare client relationships through cold calling, email outreach, referrals, social media, market research, networking, industry contacts, re-engagement efforts, and other strategic prospecting methods.
- Operate as a true partner to healthcare systems, engaging directly with finance leaders, department heads, and executives to build sustainable workforce solutions.
- Success in this role is defined by building a portfolio of direct client relationships, generating new signed agreements, and converting those into scalable revenue across multiple service lines.
- This is an opportunity to build a desk and market with real autonomy, backed by an established delivery engine and national infrastructure, while operating in a relationship-led, client-first model.
- Lead discovery conversations that, map target accounts, uncover client pain points, business needs, and growth opportunities.
- Build customized solutions for pitch delivery and proposals based on client goals and workforce needs.
- Partner with sales leadership to align on strategy, priorities, and execution.
What You Bring:
- Experience selling to hospitals, healthcare systems, or independent healthcare groups preferred
- Experience winning direct new business through outbound outreach, consultative selling, and contract negotiation
- Ability to build credibility with stakeholders at multiple levels, including executive buyers
- Strong discovery skills and ability to connect client pain points to business value
- Independent, self-motivated, and comfortable building from scratch
- Resilience and comfort handling rejection in a high-outreach environment
