What You Will Do

The Civil Engineer will contribute to IFS’s success by preparing site evaluations and studies, preparation of schematic designs and early design documents. You will work closely with Project Managers and senior company leaders, mentor junior staff & interact with the client and multidisciplinary design teams.

In addition to Private Sector Clientele: Projects may be National Cemeteries, VA Medical Centers or other large projects for the federal government. Primary responsibilities will be preparation of designs and the management of design efforts.

Primary Responsibilities

• Utilize Civil 3D and CAD to perform design tasks.
• Project manager or assist the project manager for land development projects and working as well as part of a multi-disciplinary design team for larger projects.
• Work with Clients and stakeholders to present design information for the purposes of collaboration and design development.
• Manage project schedules and budgets.
• Site evaluations, some travel can be expected.
• Road and utility design, grading, erosion and sediment control, stormwater design
• Proposal preparation
