Senior Project Manager

Description:

Gryphon Oakwood is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager specializing in structural and miscellaneous steel erection for operations based in the Akron, Ohio area. The selected individual will oversee large-scale heavy steel erection projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires a comprehensive understanding of structural steel operations, welding practices, and shop floor dynamics, along with a sharp focus on safety and quality standards. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, manage vendor relations, and coordinate closely with shop floor and field teams to successfully execute projects according to schedule and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned projects from initiation to completion, including manufacturing planning, material oversight, and customer relationship management.

• Conduct regular communication with customers, including site visits and measurement collection to ensure project alignment.

• Source materials, confirm vendor pricing, and establish material lead times.

• Collaborate with internal shop floor teams, external field teams, and vendors to plan project timelines and requirements.

• Create production routers and initiate shop floor production activities.

• Provide regular status updates and detailed project reports to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Interpret and apply customer specifications and project requirements throughout all phases.

• Independently or collaboratively troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues, proposing and implementing actionable solutions.

Position Requirements:
