Civil Engineer

Sevee & Maher Engineers (SME) has an immediate opening for an entry-level Civil Engineer (entry level) in either our Aurora or Park Ridge, IL, office to support commercial, industrial, and residential site development projects.

Our firm’s commercial projects typically include solar farms, restaurants, car washes, strip malls, churches, and mixed-use buildings. Industrial projects include logistics facilities, warehouses, distribution centers, and light industry projects. Residential projects include apartment buildings, townhouses, and high-end single-family homes.

Position Summary

As an entry level engineer at SME, you will:

• Manage and design your own diverse portfolio of projects

• Spend time in the field and experience the different dimensions of the project life cycle

• Communicate with clients and keep organized project schedules

• Have meaningful opportunities to learn and grow to achieve your potential, and

• Be supported by experienced senior engineers who want you to succeed

You will also be a key member of the client’s development team, a rewarding position in which your contributions will play a significant part in project success.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• Authorization to work in the U.S. is required
• Ability to multitask
• Communicate clearly and in a friendly, approachable manner with clients, co-workers, and municipal staff
• Stay within project budgets and timelines
• Willingness and initiative to find answers you may not already have
• Ability to develop relationships that result in happy clients and repeat business!
