Description:

Duties

  • Create and execute high impact digital social media campaigns across a variety of platforms.
  • Develop and implement a social media and digital media strategy that informs and educates internal and external audiences about the organization, its mission, activities, people and value it brings to the Department.
  • Observe personnel and facilities to ensure activities are carried out within acceptable levels in terms of quality, timeliness, customer satisfaction, completeness, regulatory compliance and other provisions essential to operations.
  • Develop news and feature content for social media, the website, email subscription service, social media and other digital channels.
  • Formulate strategies for social and digital media and its platforms, which currently include a website, intranet, email, and social media sites to include: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube, and other communication channels.
  • Plan, advise, prepare and release information about programs, policies and functions.
  • Serve as the digital media architect, working collaboratively across the agency to drive engagement, grow audience and build communities through existing and emerging digital media platforms.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • This position is considered Mission Essential.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-11within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as experience developing content for and publishing to Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook as well as creating appealing visual designs for a public audience on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and/or on YouTube.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
