Description:
JFM Consulting Group (JFM), a Detroit-based planning, strategy, evaluation, and research consulting firm, is seeking a part-time (approximately 20 hours/week) Executive Assistant. This role serves a dual function:
- Providing administrative, business development, and project support to the President
- Providing project support to the President
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and an effective communicator who can work both independently and collaboratively. This position includes some on-site work in our Downtown Detroit office and/or in other locations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the President’s calendar, including scheduling meetings and coordinating logistics
- Prepare materials for meetings, events, and presentations
- Provide administrative support on complex or confidential matters, including travel coordination
- Draft and manage professional communications (email, correspondence) on behalf of the President
- Serve as a point of contact by responding to calls and emails and coordinating follow-ups as needed
- Conduct research, prioritize inquiries, and ensure timely follow-up on key issues
- Support meeting and event logistics, including scheduling interviews and sending reminders
- Perform general administrative tasks (printing, filing, mailing, etc.)
- Identify and improve administrative processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Support the coordination of project-related meetings, workshops, and client engagements
- Assist with the development and administration of surveys (online and in-person)
- Enter and manage survey data; produce summary tables, charts, and graphs
- Support the development of presentations and slide decks
- Help manage competing priorities and ensure timely completion of tasks under deadlines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
- At least 2 years of experience supporting senior staff or executives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to quickly learn new tools (e.g., project management or survey software)
- Strong judgment and ability to handle confidential information
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed
- Experience in the nonprofit sector strongly preferred
