Independent Account Manager

 

Description:

Achieves maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and market segmentation by effectively selling the company’s billing, practice management and electronic health record systems. Personally contacts and secures new business accounts and customers. Exceeds monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals of agreement.

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

Promotes, sells and secures contracts from prospective private practice physician customers through a relationship-based approach. Demonstrates products and services to potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.

DETAILS OF FUNCTION

• Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with prospective customers in the assigned territory and market segments to generate new business for the organization’s products and services.

• Makes in-person visits, follow up phone calls and presentations to prospective customers.

• Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.

• Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.

• Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.

• Coordinates sales efforts with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service support teams.

• Analyzes the territory and market’s potential and develops an ongoing business plan to ensure success.

• Has the ability to identify advantages of First Medical’s products/services and can effectively communicate the value added benefit they provide the private practice physician marketplace.

• Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services.

• Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.

• Participates in trade shows and conventions.

REPORTING

• Reports directly to the Director of Business Development

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess 6-8 years’ of successful sales experience in the medical device or IT sectors.

• Possession of a bachelor degree in business management, marketing or related field required.

• Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).

• Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment as needed.

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.

• Valid driver’s license.
