Lead Welder

 

Description:

Position Overview: They will be responsible for welding and assembling low-pressure pipes used in irrigation systems, pump stations, and other water conveyance projects and manage a team of 10 welders. They will be responsible for keeping the team on task, managing PTO/attendance, and basic write-ups.

 

Position Description:

- Weld and assemble low-pressure pipes

- Measure and lay out pipes for welding, ensuring proper alignment and fit.

- Weld pipe connections and fittings according to specifications.

- Perform quality inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.

- Troubleshoot and repair faulty welds and pipe connections as needed.

- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and shop sketches.

- Maintain welding equipment and ensure it is in proper working order.

 

Position Requirements:

- Must have prior management/ leadership experience

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.

- Ability to pass a pre-employment welding test and demonstrate welding skills.

- Positive attitude, team player, and able to follow detailed instructions.

- Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.

- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
