Ramp Technician

Description:

Freeport-McMoRan, a leading global mining company with its headquarters in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a RAMP Technician (Remote Access Monitoring Process Technician) to join its team at the Collaboration Hub. The role involves leveraging real-time monitoring technologies to improve equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance efficiency in a high-tech, collaborative setting.

As part of the RAMP team, the successful candidate will collect and analyze equipment performance data, assist in the development of advanced diagnostic tools, and contribute to operator training. The position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical knowledge, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to predictive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor site equipment using real-time predictive technologies.

• Collect and analyze data to identify potential equipment issues.

• Provide maintenance recommendations and complete necessary work orders.

• Support on-site training and operator education.

• Assist in the development and enhancement of diagnostic tools.

• Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mechanical field.

• Strong understanding of basic mechanical systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, fluid mechanics).

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Experience using SAP.

• Maintenance experience with mining or other heavy equipment.

• Familiarity with Caterpillar VIMS, Caterpillar ET, and Centurion software.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly pay: $27–$37/hour (based on experience and qualifications).
