Description:
We are recruiting for an AVP, Claims for a prestigious specialty carrier. This role is fully remote and offers a rare opportunity to lead some of the most complex claims in Management Liability, Employment Practices, Managed Care and Life Sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex claims of the highest severity.
- Identify and analyze coverage issues; negotiate settlements within authority.
- Select and manage defense counsel; oversee litigation and mediation.
- Manage reserves, loss runs, and reporting to reinsurers and regulators.
- Engage with insureds, outside counsel, and internal leadership throughout the life of the claim.
- Support segment leaders and business development, attending pre-bind calls and marketing visits.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and J.D. preferred
- 5+ years handling Management Liability (D&O, EPLI), Managed Care or Life Sciences).
- Strong litigation management and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of industry trends, relevant case law and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication, leadership and collaborative approach.
