Vice President of Claims

Description:

We are recruiting for an AVP, Claims for a prestigious specialty carrier. This role is fully remote and offers a rare opportunity to lead some of the most complex claims in Management Liability, Employment Practices, Managed Care and Life Sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex claims of the highest severity.
• Identify and analyze coverage issues; negotiate settlements within authority.
• Select and manage defense counsel; oversee litigation and mediation.
• Manage reserves, loss runs, and reporting to reinsurers and regulators.
• Engage with insureds, outside counsel, and internal leadership throughout the life of the claim.
• Support segment leaders and business development, attending pre-bind calls and marketing visits.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and J.D. preferred
• 5+ years handling Management Liability (D&O, EPLI), Managed Care or Life Sciences).
• Strong litigation management and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of industry trends, relevant case law and regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication, leadership and collaborative approach.
