Warehouse Operator

Description:

Saputo Inc., one of the top 10 global dairy processors, is seeking a Cooler Warehouse Operator Semi-Skilled to join its Friendship, NY facility. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of finished goods according to customer orders and FIFO inventory standards. The role also includes inventory management, operation of various material handling equipment, and strict adherence to safety and food quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate material handling equipment such as lift trucks, pallet jacks, and battery-powered vehicles in compliance with OSHA and company policies

• Accurately execute automated warehouse management software functions including scanning and inventory tracking

• Load and unload refrigerated trailers following FIFO and customer specifications

• Perform equipment and trailer safety inspections before and after use

• Maintain accurate shipping/receiving documentation and warehouse cleanliness

• Execute product rework and repackaging as necessary

• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

• Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and food safety regulations

• Operate a yard tractor to move trailers as needed

• Support internal and external audits and participate in safety initiatives

Job Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain Powered Industrial Truck certification

• Proven experience in warehouse operations; food manufacturing experience preferred

• Proficiency in math and computer software (SAP experience is a plus)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Reliable work history and consistent attendance

Physical Demands:

• Work in varying environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid, noisy)

• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb stairs throughout shifts

• Handle and lift up to 50 lbs independently, or up to 100 lbs with assistance

• Must be flexible to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by a 24/7 manufacturing facility
