Warehouse Shuttle Driver

 

Description:

Saputo, a leading global dairy processor and one of the top three cheese producers in the U.S., is seeking a Warehouse Shuttle Driver to join its operations team. This position involves operating a semi-truck to safely shuttle materials and finished goods between production facilities and external warehouses while maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring FIFO (first-in-first-out) rotation, and supporting compliance with food safety and safety standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical acumen, safe driving history, and a team-oriented attitude to contribute effectively to warehouse and logistics operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Shuttle Driving: Operate 48-foot and 53-foot trailers to transport materials/products between sites; ensure safe, legal, and efficient travel.

  • Load & Unload: Manage loading and unloading of trailers with materials or finished goods using material handling equipment (lift trucks, pallet jacks, etc.).

  • Inventory Control: Adhere to FIFO protocols, minimize product waste, and accurately track product movements using automated warehouse software.

  • Trailer Maintenance: Maintain trailers in a clean, operational condition; conduct pre- and post-load inspections and maintain mileage sheets.

  • Warehouse Operations: Execute daily shipping and receiving tasks, complete documentation, and operate stretch-wrapping/palletizing equipment.

  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, conduct equipment inspections, and comply with GMPs, SOPs, and food safety protocols.

  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with warehouse, logistics, and production teams; participate in audits and cross-departmental training.

  • Housekeeping: Ensure cleanliness of work areas in accordance with Saputo’s environmental and housekeeping standards.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least 2 years of experience in food or dairy manufacturing (preferred)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain lift truck certification

  • Strong understanding of FIFO, inventory controls, and warehouse equipment

  • Strong technical aptitude for operating touch panels and mechanical systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Consistent attendance and professional work history


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in a temperature-variable warehouse environment (hot, cold, wet, humid)

  • Frequently lift/move up to 75 lbs independently or 100 lbs with assistance

  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb stairs regularly throughout the shift
