Duties

• Responsible for independently coordinating new work and maintenance dredging activities on coastal and inland navigation projects with a number of local, state, and federal environmental agencies
• Coordinates project operations and maintenance activities with other components of the District (engineering, administrative, contracting, real estate, operations, and legal).
• Prepares plans and specifications or portions of such documents for dredging and other navigation projects as needed.
• Reviews contract plans and specifications prepared by Project office and/or Engineering Division.
• Serves in a liaison capacity with responsibility for disseminating environmental information and guidance for long-term dredging and disposal programs.
• Participates in planning for dredged material ocean dumping and water quality certification activities.
• Serves as Civil Engineer and performs a variety of professional engineering duties related to the technical support of construction, maintenance, and operation of navigable waterways in the Mobile District.
