Communications Specialist

 

Description:

In this role, you will:

  • Researches, develops, plans, designs, and maintains policies and materials for the purpose of conveying messages to the DOL VETS TAP contract team along with participating Transitioning Service Members, Spouses and Veterans attending DOL's Transition Assistance Program events.
  • Writes, edits, reviews and oversees release of both internal and external communication documentation.
  • Prepares messaging for review for distribution by DOL VETS TAP.
  • Materials prepared are placed on the intranet, newsletters, emails/memos, webcasts, presentations and speeches.
  • Coordinates with marketing/external communications team to plan internal and external events for the DOL VETS TAP contract.
  • Assists with the development, improvement and/or implementation of new and existing communication avenues.
  • Conducts tasks and assignments as directed.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this roll, you will have:

  • A Bachelor`s degree and 2-4 years related of experience.
  • The knowledge of marketing strategies; strong written communication skills to include:
    • Preparing press releases
    • Able to fluently use Adobe and MS Suite of software tools
    • Use software tools to prepare messaging for social media marketing.
  • Moderate skill sets and developing proficiency within discipline.
  • The ability to travel 10%.
