Lead Cashier

Ulta Beauty, a leading North American beauty retailer, is seeking a Lead Cashier to join its New York, NY team. This role offers a dynamic opportunity in a vibrant retail environment that thrives on creativity, diversity, and customer engagement. The Lead Cashier is instrumental in delivering exceptional guest service while upholding operational standards and supporting the sales and loyalty goals of the store.

As a Lead Cashier, you will ensure the cashwrap area operates efficiently, handle guest transactions with care, and maintain a welcoming, organized environment. You will assist in training new cashiers and cross-train other team members, while also acting as a role model for customer interaction and Ulta’s brand experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver outstanding guest service through friendly interaction and tailored product recommendations

• Assist with the booking of appointments and execution of in-store events

• Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges in accordance with Ulta policies

• Train, support, and mentor new and existing associates in cashier procedures

• Execute register open/close functions, cashier chat ins/outs, and associate exit inspections

• Maintain cleanliness and restocking of cashwrap and impulse areas

• Promote the Ulta Beauty loyalty program and drive engagement with credit and app benefits

• Ensure full compliance with operational standards, loss prevention measures, and company policies

• Collaborate closely with managers and other departments to achieve store performance goals

Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma preferred

• Proficiency with POS systems and Apple devices

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Adaptability under pressure and in fast-paced environments

• Physical capability to stand, twist, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive motions during shifts

• Must be 18 years or older

Working Conditions:
This is an on-site, part-time role requiring availability for a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical activity and mobility throughout the store are required throughout shifts.
